The "Nozaki-mairi" became popular in the olden days because people could easily visit Jigenji （ commonly known as ： Nozaki Kannon ） from Osaka City on a houseboat.

The Nozaki-mairi is an event to visit the principal image of the eleven-faced Kannon (Goddess of Mercy) on May 1 ～ 8 at the Gokaicho (the opening of the sutra of Mujikyo) and has continued for over 300 years since the Genroku era. Even today, more than 130 stalls line both sides of the approach from the station, attracting large crowds.
